Cell Phones for Soldiers

Brigantine Lodge #2428 is now proud to be one of the collection sites for Cell Phones for Soldiers in southern New Jersey. Please bring in your old cell phones and put them in the box in the foyer designated for that purpose. You can either erase the cell phone data yourself by going to the web and downloading simple instructions at this link Cell Eraser or we will erase your data for you.  Let's help give our soldiers the ability to keep in touch with their loved ones while the are serving our country abroad.

The phones collected are sent to ReCellular which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each donated phone, enough to provide and hour of talk time to soldiers abroad.  You can read more about this wonderful program at cellphonesforsoldiers.com.

Cell Phones for Soldiers acknowledges Elks Lodge #2428

Thank you for supporting Cell Phones for Soldiers.  We are so grateful for your donation. It is because of the generosity of people like you that we have never had to deny a request for calling cards for troops. This month, you and our supporters donated more than 225,000 phones!
Kind Regards,
Cell Phones for Soldiers

“SO LONG AS THERE ARE VETERANS, THE BENEVOLENT AND PROTECTIVE ORDER OF ELKS WILL NEVER FORGET THEM”.

The goal of our Lodge National Veterans Service Committee is to help all of our nations Veterans. Last year we hosted Veterans from the NJ Veterans Memorial Home at Vineland as well as a number of local Veterans to join us for the Army/Navy Game. We also made a Christmas Trip to Vineland to spread some Christmas cheer.

Our plans for 2010 include:

March: Pre-Saint Patrick’s Day Trip to Vineland We will be taking 10 cases of “O'Doul's” as well as some home made cookies and some Irish Potatoes. Four TVs were donated.

June 14-FLAG DAY-”DAY at the BAY”  We will be hosting the Vineland Veterans as well as Local Veterans for an afternoon of :
Sun bathing on the beach, Lounging by the bay, and Fishing in the inlet  [The Fish finder]. We will start the event with a FLAG DAY CEREMONY followed by a picnic lunch and dinner.

December ARMY/NAVY GAME  We will be hosting the Vineland Vets and local Vets to watch the Army/Navy Game and enjoy an afternoon of great food, Fun and Friendship.

December CHRISTMAS TRIP TO VETERANS MEMORIAL HOME  AT VINELAND.

Please consider joining our committee.  You do not have to be a Veteran; you just need a strong desire to help enrich the lives of our country's Veterans.
